Large screen TV in a modest room?
We just updated our television to a 50 "big screen. We have a very modest and homely living room. I do not know how it will look. There is one who is alone - we have to buy a seat for him, but I'm not sure how it will look. Any ideas on how create a large screen set in a warm and casual living room? If It helps that we have many things in the room. A lazy child, one on a chair, sofa large (with double bed), an upright piano (cherrywood), DVD / CD rack and two large speakers with surround sound. Our home office is also part of the room, so it is almost only a quarter long. The TV color is black, where as all other furniture is more neutral colors. Is there anyway to get these pieces to fit or will always look for the ball, as strange? Any ideas on media? Our house is anything but contemporary, but is the only class we seem to be standing.
You can buy a wooden entertainment unit for ... It can get expensive and most likely will be higher than you want ... (Side cabinets and all ....) Are you good with tools and wood? You can have the support of the timber. You want the base to be only slightly bigger than television. Measure and make a pattern of one inch longer / more in each direction. You will have to cut 2 of this pattern. One of them will be the basis, only one or 2 inches off the floor, and the other is placed in the heighth you want the TV to sit. Decide what you want the stand. He added that the height at the height of the TV and add a few inches for good measure. Cut 2 wooden panels of the heighth, and as wide as the depth of at least watching television. (You can go back on the TV especially if you like ...) Cut another piece of the width of the side boards and long enough to bridge over the TV and connect the boards side. Join and stain in a color that complements your other colors. That does not look as contemporary and it costs $ 2000. Place the TV on it and enjoy!
