What is the best route for moving the state?
My family is from Louisiana to Tennessee. I looked into PODS, but not active in our area of Ten. (Cookeville). It would cost us about $ 850 for the use of U-Haul and pack ourselves and this is not including gas. Does anyone know of any otherwise? We set aside only $ 1000 for the move. We have 3 bedroom house to move, but not great cookware (such as refrigerator, washer and dryer), living room and bedroom furniture only and other household items. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Actually move itself is the most cheap unless it is a local movement. So far you have received one of the best prices for movements out there. Here is a rule of thumb to follow: If their furniture is actually worth less then the cost to move it --- Do not! Have a yard sale and then to arrive at your new home buy new or used, which ever you can afford You can always find discount coupons or vouchers (Internet) to get discounts or special rates auto companies move as the budget, UHaul, Penske. Ryder. We used Penske (because I am a big discount at the time) Request a gas card and use it for travel. You can pay over time. Remember to keep receipts for all expenses can deduct this movement out of income tax ---- rental car, meals, hotels, gas mileage deduction, job search, tickets aircraft if they were part of it, etc. Good Luck
